On Friday, Cindee announced the restaurant portion of the business would close Wednesday.
PUNTA GORDA — After more than a decade of serving up gooey butter cakes and gourmet fare, Pies & Plates, the popular Punta Gorda eatery that built a successful niche on the local restaurant scene, will close this week.
Pies & Plates owner Cindee Murphy announced Friday the restaurant-slash-bakery-slash-retail shop-slash-culinary school will close its kitchen Wednesday . The store will remain open through the end of May, or until everything sells, Murphy said.
