PORT CHARLOTTE — If the Charlotte Stone Crabs were going to snap a nine-game home losing streak, Thursday seemed like the night to do it.

They were playing in front of a standing-room-only crowd of 6,942, likely the biggest they’ll see all season. Charlotte Sports Park was celebrating Independence Day early, and everyone in the building was waiting for the postgame fireworks show.
