NORTH PORT — In a Monday meeting, city commissioners will discuss purchasing full ownership of the Warm Mineral Springs Day Spa.

Sarasota County commissioners offered to sell their 50 percent share of ownership of the Springs to North Port, giving the city 100 percent ownership of the 81-acre day spa and its 87-degree, mineral-rich lake. The offer follows a joint owners’ meeting in which the city and county could not agree on the selection of a long-term management operator — meaning the Springs will close Aug. 31 when the current, short-term operator’s contract expires.
