Palatial home breaks North Port size record

MVM Custom Homes recently broke the record for biggest house permitted in North Port. The 12,448 square-foot Lake Geraldine home beat the previous record of 11,862 square feet, which a North Port Estates home has held since 2009.

The biggest house in North Port, permitted in January 2013, is a five-bedroom, seven-bathroom house with several special features, including a billiards room, theater, gym, library, sauna, four-car garage and an 11.5-foot-deep pool with a spa.

NORTH PORT — A custom home builder broke the record for biggest house in North Port — at 12,448 total square feet.

“This kind of shows how the economy is picking back up,” said Mike Margitich of MVM Custom Homes Inc., which is building the house for the lot owner.
