PORT CHARLOTTE — Nancy Roberts looks out over the retention pond next to her Edgewater Drive house, filled with ducks and an occasional eagle overhead, wondering when the tranquil scene will be obliterated by a careening vehicle after failing to navigate the roundabout at West Tarpon Boulevard.
“Somebody will eventually end up in this pond,” she said. “People on Edgewater still feel they have the right of way. You must yield to traffic in the circle.”
