North Port city commissioners last week issued a proclamation about the North Port Area Art Guild Inc., founded in 1988 (now the North Port Art Center), celebrating its 25th anniversary. NPAC board members and volunteers were on hand to accept the proclamation.

NORTH PORT — The North Port Art Center has been supporting professional artists and encouraging novices for 25 years.

In celebration of the milestone, the NPAC — which started out as the North Port Area Art Guild Inc. — will hold a dinner/dance and fundraiser at the IslandWalk at the West Villages clubhouse from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday.
