NORTH PORT — The Friends of Warm Mineral Springs recently prevailed in a civil lawsuit filed against the city of North Port. Now, taxpayers could pay thousands in attorney fees.
In June, the founders of the Friends group, Bill Delp and his girlfriend, Juliette Jones, filed a civil suit against Cypress Lending, who operated the Springs day spa for the city and Sarasota County, who co-own the 81-acre site. They also filed a suit against the city. The lawsuit alleges the city failed to produce financial documents regarding the operation of the Springs. The city claimed it didn’t have the documents because Cypress ignored two of its requests for them.
