NORTH PORT — City commissioners don’t want to hear any more about building a new swimming pool in North Port — at least in the near future. Instead, they asked Parks and Recreation Advisory Board members this week to focus on more ball fields, a remote-control car track, lacrosse, water sports and ecotourism in the city.
Parks board members Thursday night anxiously told commissioners during a joint meeting there are many reasons a new pool is needed in North Port.
