SARASOTA COUNTY — Sarasota County commissioners this week approved the Sarasota County School Board’s request to hold a special election for the district’s millage referendum on March 25, 2014.
The March 25 date was approved unanimously by the School Board in early October and again on Nov. 5. The board also voted Nov. 5 to alter slightly the language of the referendum so that it now states its approval by voters will generate “operating expenses necessary to maintaining the Sarasota County School System.”
