Teens, parents warned about online behavior

NORTH PORT — With technology here to stay, North Port Police Detective Herb Stewartson told a group at Imagine School at North Port’s upper campus there are dangers and consequences to online behaviors — and both teens and parents should be on guard.

Stewartson’s Wednesday night presentation utilized information from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, and outlined the many ways teens access the Internet — and how predators can access them — that parents might not be aware of, including e-readers and gaming devices.
