NORTH PORT — The city will host a “Road-E-O” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Department of Public Works, 1100 N. Chamberlain Blvd. The highlight of the Road-E-O — which stands for Road Equipment Operators — will be an obstacle course for the Solid Waste Division’s drivers, who will be competing. The winner will move on to a statewide competition in April hosted by the Florida chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America.
The family-fun event will include equipment demonstrations by all of the divisions of the city’s Public Works Department, static displays of vehicles from other city departments, interactive information booths, food vendors, a bounce house and other children’s activities, music and entertainment, and much more. Enter to win free prizes, including a family four-pack to the Arcadia All-Florida Championship Rodeo. The first 1,000 residents to walk through the entrance will receive a recycle bag with goodies.
