SARASOTA COUNTY — School district superintendent Lori White has enlisted the Florida Department of Health to help reach out to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for “advice and assistance” regarding Lamarque Elementary School, which has been plagued with ongoing health issues among students and staff.

In a letter to Tom Higgenbotham, director of the Sarasota County Health Department, dated Jan. 14, White writes the Sarasota County School District has “reached their level of available expertise” when it comes to Lamarque, and hopes the CDC can recommend further action.
