NORTH PORT — The North Port Area Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the Rotary Club North Port Central to sponsor an Arts & Crafts Festival in conjunction with the Lip Smackin’ Eye Rollin’ BBQ Fest from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 8 at the Gene Matthews Boys & Girls Club. Whether you are a professional or an amateur, if you have arts and crafts talent and would like to display or sell your artwork, you’ll want to take part in this event.

The Arts & Crafts Festival portion of the BBQ Fest will be held indoors inside the air-conditioned Boys & Girls Club’s gym at 6851 Biscayne Drive, North Port. Arts and craft booths will be limited to the first 68 vendors who register. Each vendor will have an 11-foot-by-11-foot space that will include a 6-foot table and two folding chairs. Vendors are permitted to bring additional tables and chairs if needed and can purchase multiple vendor booth spaces. The cost to participate in the Arts & Crafts Festival is $50 per vendor booth. The event will include backyard barbecue contestants, food vendors who will be selling various barbecue food products for the public to enjoy. Think you can BBQ the best? Cost is $50 to register, with the opportunity to win $500. There will also be a dessert contest and “Name Our Gator” contest. There will be a activity area for kids including bounce houses, other activities and games, as well as live music and entertainment. A number of sponsorship opportunities are available. The event is open and free to the public. For more information or to sign up, call Dale Newstrom at 618-201-0095 or the North Port Chamber at 941-564-3040.
