SARASOTA COUNTY — It’s a mere five days into early voting for the March 25 special election for the Sarasota County School District’s 1-mill referendum renewal, and the numbers already are higher than the total number of early voters during the last special election in 2010.

Early voting, which began March 10 and runs through March 22, is in advance of the referendum vote, and for the election of trustees for the Holiday Park Recreation District in North Port. Also on March 25, elections will be held in Longboat Key and Venice, where residents will vote on nine charter amendments.
