NORTH PORT — Permits for new homes in the city rose drastically last month compared to the same time a year ago.
In March, 65 new residential permits were issued in the city, with property values of more than $16.4 million, according to figures released this week by the North Port Building department. That’s up from 25 new home permits in March 2013, with property values over $5.8 million.
