SARASOTA COUNTY — Kathleen Sullivan was recently named new Head Start director and vice president of programs at Children First, Sarasota County’s provider of Head Start and Early Head Start programs.
Sullivan succeeds Hope Kinney, who retired in May, and will supervise programming and curriculum at the 13 early childhood education centers around the county overseen by Children First, according to president and CEO Philip Tavill. Tavill cited Sullivan’s master’s degree in childhood development from Tufts University and a bachelor’s degree in Hispanic studies from the University of Southern Maine as perfect background for her new role at Children First.
