NORTH PORT — For the second time in less than a year, the North Port Knights of Columbus Council 7997 has given a gift for a cause they feel is above all — life. The pro-life organization works to support mothers’ and infants’ rights while working to provide information and resources, members say. Wednesday morning, the local Knights chapter filled the lobby of Pregnancy Solutions, located just past St. Pedro Catholic Church on Tamiami Trail, to celebrate a donation that will help the facility give upscale services to expectant mothers.

A cutting-edge, $74,000 ultrasound machine known as the Esaote My Lab Five was presented to Pregnancy Solutions Executive Director Callie Cowan and board members during the ceremony at the facility. Cowan knows the importance of having a piece of equipment in the building that often helps a woman decide the future for herself and her unborn child.
