NORTH PORT — Although the Warm Mineral Springs Day Spa will close at 5 p.m. Sunday, staff said the city’s plan to obtain full ownership of the Springs could allow for a speedy reopening.

The city, currently a joint owner of the Springs with Sarasota County, is attempting to buy the county’s interest in the property. After it completes the purchase, Assistant City Manager Danny Schult said Wednesday, the Springs could open “in a very short period of time.”
