Donald Thomas Spittler Sr.

Donald Thomas “Donny” Spittler Sr., 74, of North Port, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, at home.

He was born March 9, 1939, in Decatur, Ill.

In 1969, Donny moved to Charlotte County, Fla., and later became the proud owner and operator of Tri-County Drywall, a business that became synonymous for its excellence. Donny’s honesty, generosity, great sense of humor and “can-do” attitude was ever present professionally in the community, and carried through to his family life as a dedicated father and husband.

He lived a full and fruitful life, and his time here touched the many lives that crossed his path. A man of integrity and pride, Donny’s life will be forever remembered and celebrated by his family and his friends. The love he shared carries on through his kids to a future generation. Rest in Peace, Dad. May our memories of you light our paths until we meet again.

He is survived by his loving family, including six children, Donald Spittler Jr., Karen Lisson, Adrienne Spittler, Matthew Parra, Clayton Spittler and Brigette Spittler; 10 grandchildren, Cheyenne, Arianna, Joey, Alexis, Dominic, Travis, Tiffany, Jenny, Shane and Jason; and five great-grandchildren.

A celebration of his life for family and friends will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, at the Port Charlotte Beach Complex, Pavilion 2 (playground side) in Port Charlotte, Fla.
