Ed W. Gintling, 76, of North Port, Fla., and formerly of Canton, Ohio, passed away Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014.

He was born May 21, 1937, in Akron, Ohio, to Harley and Helen Gintling.

Ed was a retired Police Officer from Jackson Township, Ohio. He was a member of the AMVETS, VFW, Elks and Eagles, and 32nd-degree Masonic Mason and a past Monarch of Nazir Grotto. Ed was very active and enjoyed playing darts, fishing and dancing. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Ed will be greatly missed by his wife of 45 years, Yvonne; son, Ed Gintling; daughter, Renee (Chris) Skellett; grandchildren, Thomas, Haden and Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Richard.
