Jakob Marks, 81, died Monday, March 3, 2014.
He was born Nov. 9, 1932, in Crvenka, Yugoslavia.
In 1944, he fled to Vienna, Austria, with his family. Jakob moved to Germany, and resided there until 1957, at which time he moved to the Cleveland, Ohio, area. He moved to Florida in 1995, when retiring from his job of over 33 years of employment at the Avon and Westlake USG Plants.
Jakob is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Lydia; son, Harry (Robin); daughters, Esther (Bill) Smith, Diane (George) Wood and Carol (Ron) Bivin; seven grandchildren, Kelly, Kristin, Justin, Jason, Scott, Brandon and Brooke; and great-granddaughter, Hannah.
A Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, at First Baptist Church of North Port, 8000 Dorothy Ave., North Port, FL 34287.
