Ranford W. Miller, 80, of North Port, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014, at his home in North Port.

He was born July 27, 1933, in Jamaica, West Indies, to Vernal and Beatrice Miller.

Ranford was a member of First Baptist Church of Port Charlotte, Fla. He moved to England in the 1950’s where he worked at North Tames Gas Board and also Ford Motor Company for many years. Ranford retired and moved to Jamaica in 1982, and later moved to Florida in 1983, where he enjoyed life to the fullest, playing dominoes and making people laugh.

He is survived by his loving wife, Pauline; a son, Devon Miller of England; two daughters, Julie and Yvonne Miller both of England; two brothers, Amos Miller of Port Charlotte and Alphonso Miller of Bahamas; five sisters, Venis Miller of Port Charlotte, Renella Reid of Port Charlotte, Eugenie Miller of Philadelphia, Pa., Esmeter Miller, and Bernice Miller both of England; and three grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2014, at funeral home. Entombment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens Port Charlotte, Florida. Friends may visit online at to sign the memory book and extend condolences to the family.
