Robert J. Riccio, 66, of North Port, Fla., passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Tidewell Hospice in Venice, Fla.

He was born Feb. 5, 1948, in New York, N.Y.

Robert moved to North Port nine years ago from Port Charlotte, Fla. He was a veteran of Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Navy. Robert was a retired truck driver and avid model train collector and loved music and collecting and playing the drums. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend to many.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen A. (nee Reilly) Riccio of Port Charlotte; daughter, Christina (Robert) Phillips of Port Charlotte; sister, Rosemarie Veira of Peekskill, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Emily Watson and Jamison Phillips; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a visitation from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Roberson Funeral Home Port Charlotte. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2014, at St. Maximillian Koble Catholic Church. Entombment and military honors will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
