Paul E. Cox, 70, of North Port, Fla., passed away Thursday June 5, 2014.
He was born Dec. 15, 1943, in Glen Cove, N.Y.
Paul worked for Chase Manhattan Bank in New York City in financial operations for 35 years until he retired in 2001. He lived in Brooklyn Heights, N.Y., during his working career, and came to North Port in 2006, from, Remsenburg, N.Y. Paul loved outdoor activities, especially golf. Fondly known as the “Big Duffer,” he was a member of the Sandbaggers of Sabal Trace in their men’s league and a member of the Sabal Trace PGA (Play Golf Anywhere). He will be missed by fond family and a multitude of friends.
Surviving family members include his wife, Bonnie; daughter, Sheila Cox; son, Paul “Ted” (Shannon Parcells) Cox-O’Shea; grandchildren, Brady and Charlotte O’Shea; sister, Elizabeth Cox-Kelly; brother, Francis “Towney” Godfrey; and the mother of their children, Eileen Roloff.
