Elsie JoAnn (nee Saienni) Morales, 76, of North Port, Fla., and formerly of Campbell, Ohio, died Tuesday, June 17, 2014.
She was born Oct. 26, 1937, in Campbell, daughter of Joseph and Rose (nee Messina) Saienni.
Elsie graduated from Campbell Memorial High School in 1955, and graduated nursing school in 1961. In her 53-year career, she performed duties from surgical nursing to nursing administration. She retired from Baybreeze Healthcare in Venice, Fla., following 31 years with the company. Elsie moved to Florida in 1983, residing first in Miramar, Fla., before moving to North Port in 2002. Elsie was an award-winning baker, and an expert at sewing, knitting and crocheting.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Julian; a son, Steven of North Port; a daughter, Kimberly (Robert) Adams of Franklin, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; son, Julian; two grandchildren, Julian Morales Jr. and Stephanie Adams; and three sisters, Lucy Gaetano, Pearl Ambrose and RoseMarie Marino.
Friends are invited for an informal remembrance of Elsie from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014, at the family home in North Port. There will be no service, at the request of the deceased.
