Woman faces multiple charges in hit-and-run
NORTH PORT — A woman apprehended by North Port police officers Friday afternoon after fleeing from a hit-and-run, crashing her car and running away on foot had a suspended driver’s license, Sarasota County Jail records show.
Markeisha Taylor, 23, of the 4200 block of Pawtucket Street, was involved in a minor accident near U.S. 41 and Sumter Boulevard, then sped away from the scene, according to city spokesman Josh Taylor. She lost control of her car and crashed into two trees along Sumter, then struck a light pole. She fled on foot but was caught quickly.
