PORT CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte Stone Crabs hot-hitting offense made sure Ryan Hanigan got plenty of opportunities to bat, even in a rain-shortened game, on Saturday.
The Tampa Bay Rays’ catcher, making a rehab assignment after straining his left oblique three weeks ago, batted second as the Stone Crabs’ designated hitter. He went 1 for 3 with a walk and two runs scored in Charlotte’s 10-0 win.
