PORT CHARLOTTE — A lot has been written about Justin O’Conner this season.
Tampa Bay’s prospect is in the middle of a career year, batting a career-best .282 with 10 home runs and 44 RBIs. The catcher played in both the Florida State League All-Star Game and the MLB Futures game, and he excelled behind the plate for Charlotte. O’Conner has thrown out 50 percent of would-be base-stealers and has picked off 14 runners.
