During this past year, beginning late summer, the 1950 era building that now houses WellMed, 2020 Flamingo Drive, underwent a massive renovation project that reconfigured the interior structure that made it more accessible, relaxing and comfortable for the medical practice’s clientele. The renovation also allows for further expansion as the practice grows to meet the needs of the community.

The Bartow WellMed facility is headed by Dr. Alicia Saunders and is the second in the area, with another practice located in Lakeland. Dr. Saunders has long been a fixture in Bartow, having begun her practice after emigrating from Argentina. She is primarily an internist and geriatrician and family practice.
