Melton Goff, an employee in the Engineering department, has been named Employee of the Month for February at Lake Wales Medical Center.
Goff has worked at LWMC since January 1989. In nominating him for the award, his supervisor wrote, “Melton Goff has been the backbone of the Engineering department’s success. He is constantly called upon to make repairs outside the normal scope of day-to-day operations and has consistently succeeded where others have failed. He has repeatedly mentored and trained new employees with diligence and patience and increases the overall department performance just by being at work. Melton always has a positive can-do attitude and is willing to take on any task assigned to him. He has worked to maintain a very positive working relationship in and out of the department. I have witnessed his interaction with patients and visitors over the past year and found him to be very empathetic and very diligent when he handles volatile situations. If the hospital were ever to lose Melton Goff as an employee, we will have lost one of our best assets. He is definitely the type of employee that we want on the front lines of our organization. It is my firm belief that Melton has consistently gone above and beyond his expected duties for this organization. He has earned my highest recommendation in all areas of his performance and he is a stellar representative of Lake Wales Medical Center.”
