Davis played football at The Citadel and was drafted by two different professional football teams, St. Louis of the NFL and Los Angeles of the AFL. He played tight end and defensive end.

Every time Melony Bell takes to the Polk County Commission dais, a little piece of Joe Brown goes with her.

Brown, one of Fort Meade longest serving city commissioners, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, leaving behind a legacy of service to people, community and schools that would be difficult to rival.
