Remembering Devin

Share this story:

SUN PHOTO BY ROBERT NELSON
A memorial for Devin Federly was placed at the site where the 14-year-old Port Charlotte boy was killed by a hit-and-run driver Friday night. The memorial includes a cross adorned with a bicycle gear and chains. Devin was riding his bicycle when he was struck by what witnesses described as an older-model, extended-cab silver pickup near the intersection of Sheehan Boulevard and State Avenue. The truck reportedly should have damage to its right front and windshield. Authorities said Sunday the truck may be lifted and have a chrome tool box in the bed of the truck. Anyone with information is asked to call the Florida Highway Patrol at 239-344-1730, or the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office at 941-639-2101.
