Jury to deliberate today in cold-case murder trial
McMannis
“She was beautiful, she was kind, she was loving,” Assistant State Attorney Jennifer Garczewski described 19-year-old Tara Sidarovich in the words of her mother at the start of the state’s closing argument.
After a five-and-a-half week trial with at least 65 witnesses, the jury may render a decision today on the guilt or innocence of David McMannis in Sidarovich’s 2001 murder. Both the state and defense presented their final statements on Wednesday. McMannis is one of two men charged with the murder. A co-defendant, Phillip Barr, was convicted in 2015.
