The Smith Brown Community Foundation held its third annual Kentucky Derby fundraiser May 6. This year’s event raised $30,000 for the Smith Brown thanks to the many sponsors and matching funds from the Gardiner Family Foundation.

The Arcadia Police Department was honored as the 2017 Community Champion. Past recipients of this award include “Coach” Richard Bowers and School Board Member Ronny Allen. The award honors people and organizations in our community who give back in a big way, especially to our youth.
