PUNTA GORDA — After two consecutive years of utility rate hikes, the City Council decided not to raise the bill this fall.
After city staff provided its fiscal year 2018 utility budget proposal during a recent meeting, council moved to amend an ordinance that would have raised rates 4 percent Oct. 1. Staff suggested the increase be “delayed indefinitely” for the upcoming fiscal year.
