A stolen vehicle was recovered Monday when Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office deputies performed a welfare check on two individuals sleeping in a blue Volkswagon Jetta in a parking lot at 1250 McCall Road, in Englewood. Around 4:30 a.m., deputies approached a woman, later identified as Tiffany Williams, 26, curled up asleep in the driver’s seat. When deputies woke her up, they discovered that she was sitting on a large survival knife with a 10-inch blade and a black backpack.

A male, later identified as Tyler Wilson, 25, was unresponsive in the backseat, partially hanging out the door with his legs on the ground. A gray backpack open by his legs displayed a smaller purple bag containing syringes. Charlotte County Fire/EMS was dispatched and successfully woke him. He told deputies he was a “heavy sleeper.”
