As workers like bees scramble to complete the new Mosaic Arena, Katie Marks walked the perimeter seats of the giant indoor facility. She checked that the ticketing booth, livestock pen and concession work are on schedule, that arena rodeo dirt is the precise formula; turf from the old rodeo grounds is used as a nostalgic underlay of the new red clay and sand surface mix. She checked that lighting and giant fans worked, that brackets bolted in the stands will soon hold the blue seats stacked nearby — there are exactly 7,796 aluminum bench and special cupped seats.
