Final round for Port Charlotte mini-golf course

The mini-golf course offered customers a free day of golf Wednesday, marking the end of an era for the longstanding establishment.

CHARLOTTE HARBOR — For three decades, locals have been bringing their children, grandchildren and winter visitors to Fish Cove Adventure Golf, nestled in the shadow of the U.S. 41 bridge in Port Charlotte. But for friends Gem Crilly, Denise Costa and Sue Howell, their kids are now in college, in the military or starting careers.

So on Wednesday, the last day for the iconic miniature golf course, the trio of gals played a final round, just for old times’ sake.
