South Florida State College’s Corporate & Community Education Department offers an Alcohol Drug Accident Prevention Training course for first-time driver’s license applicants. The four-hour course will be held 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., March 31, at the DeSoto campus, 2252 N.E. Turner Ave. Pre-registration is required. The fee is $55 and may be paid by cash, check, or credit card.

A Safe Driving Accident Prevention Program course for drivers who have received a traffic citation, court-ordered to attend, or involved in a traffic accident and issued a ticket is also available. This course can also be taken for the possibility of a discount on car insurance. Students are responsible for checking with their own individual insurance companies to explore if discounts are extended. The program is available March 28, 5:30-9:30 p.m., at the DeSoto campus. Pre-registration is required. The fee is $55.
