Allegiant, others dispute ‘60 Minutes’ report

Despite a "60 Minutes" report Sunday, Pascal Pericles who owns Pe Pe Taxi confirmed Monday from his cab parked at Punta Gorda Airport that he has never heard a passenger complain of trauma or fear for their safety following a flight on Allegiant Air.

Daniel Davis flew into Punta Gorda Airport Monday morning on an Allegiant Air flight and waited for his ride outside the airport. He said he frequently travels to Punta Gorda on Allegiant and does not feel his safety is in jeopardy following a "60 Minutes" report that aired Sunday on CBS headlined “Allegiant Air: The budget airline flying under the radar.”

Shortly before Daniel Davis flew into Punta Gorda Airport Monday morning on an Allegiant Air flight, he said his brother forwarded him some news indicating his airline could be dangerous.

The news was based on a “60 Minutes” report that aired Sunday on CBS headlined “Allegiant Air: The budget airline flying under the radar.”
