CHARLOTTE COUNTY — Impact fees on new construction will rise 9 percent on Oct. 1, which is two years in one.
These fees are charged when a builder or owner applies for a permit. Under the new rate, the fee for a single-family home, for example, will be $3,803, up from $3,482 set in 2015. Different rates apply to 54 different categories of development, from retail space to fast food to a boat slip. The 90-day delay until Oct. 1 is required by state law.
