Allegiant Air pilots are now authorized to strike should it become necessary, union officials announced in a press release Monday.

This strike could result in flight cancellations and affect thousands of airline passengers from Las Vegas to Allegiant’s destinations in Florida, including the Punta Gorda Airport. The airport has 145 full-time Allegiant employees, 63 of those pilots, according to the airport’s 2017 economic impact study.
