NORTH PORT — Danee Fogt was the only parent who attended this week’s school district press conference. She sat with her son Chase, a Lamarque Elementary School student, and listened as Sarasota County School Superintendent Lori White promised that Lamarque was not only safe, but was not constructed using poisonous Chinese drywall. Fogt didn’t believe it.
“It was a joke,” she said of the presentation. “They didn’t address any of the issues or the quality of the air. I don’t think they handled it very well.”
