This past year saw Charlotte County generate the most tourist development tax revenue since the Charlotte Harbor Visitor & Convention Bureau was formed in 1997.
The hotel bed tax collected $2.53 million during fiscal year 2013, which ended Sept. 30, up 6 percent from the previous year. The county produced $2.39 million in tourist tax revenue in 2012, which was an all-time high then.
