PUNTA GORDA — One year after the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings, Monica Lucey rings a bell for each of the 26 lives lost. The Punta Gorda resident also relives her own memories of a day she never could have imagined.
Lucey was in Connecticut on Dec. 14, 2012, visiting family about 30 miles from Newtown, Conn., when she heard the news. Her daughter’s husband was a state trooper and one of the first on the scene.
