CHARLOTTE HARBOR — Six-year-old Angel Bazzetti clutches a Frisbee in one hand while trying a kitchen scrubbing glove on the other, gifts from Saturday’s Christmas Compassion event, at which Heart of Mercy Ministries played host. His sister, 9-year-old Naomi, holds a coloring book. Simple presents for children who don’t have a long Christmas list.

“I’m very blessed,” said their mother, Rebecca, 28. “My kids are so thankful for everything.”
