The Florida State High School Athletic Association handed down its penalties to the DeSoto County High School on Thursday, in light of the girls soccer team fielding an ineligible player in its regular-season finale against Lemon Bay.
DeSoto County was fined $1,000, the school’s athletic program was placed on administrative probation through Jan. 17, 2015 and it forfeited the Jan. 11 contest in question against Lemon Bay (the Bulldogs had won 2-1). The school also received an official letter of censure from the FSHAA.
