MURDOCK — The Charlotte County Supervisor of Elections Office is proposing that precinct lines be redrawn for greater efficiency at the polls, and to save money.
At Tuesday’s County Commission workshop, Supervisor of Elections Paul Stamoulis presented a plan to eliminate some voting precincts, consolidate others and alter the boundaries of several more, bringing the total number down from 79 to 69. Stamoulis said Charlotte has never had a problem with long lines on Election Day under his watch, and he wants to ensure the county never will.
