ENGLEWOOD — Freshman Brooke Kvaternick hit her first career home run to force extra innings and Brooke Clemens drove home the game-winner in the 11th inning to send Lemon Bay High School past Riverview, 2-1, in a nondistrict softball game Thursday.
Kvaternick’s homer, which led off the bottom of the seventh, easily cleared the left-field fence. It answered the run Riverview had pushed across in the top half of the inning on Alissa Jackson’s one-out sac fly, which scored Deanna Stevens, who had doubled.
