One dead, one wounded in Arcadia shooting

ARCADIA — One person was killed and another wounded in a drive-by shooting around noon Friday on the corner of Spring Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Street.

Helicopters transported both individuals — two males — for treatment. According to DeSoto County Sheriff Will Wise, the one who suffered a gunshot wound to the head later died; he had been sitting in the back seat. The other victim was wounded in the leg.
